WFA Conversations
Join impromtu conversations on current issues impacting women of Arkansas. Each conversation begins with a panel of women experts to open a discussion on a set topic. The floor is then opened to the audience for a deeper conversation. WFA partners with sponsors & event hosts to provide conversation events free to the public.
Miss Representation Screening & Panel Discussion
The film MISS REPRESENTATION exposes how Americans - and, especially its youth - are being sold the concept that women and girls' value lies in their youth, beauty and sexuality. The film strives to break that cycle of mistruths, while seeking to empower women and girls to challenge limiting media labels in order to realize their potential.
Presented by Conger Wealth Management, WFA and the UALR Gender Studies Department will be hosting a screening of the film followed by a panel discussion:
Thursday, April 26 at 6:00 PM
EIT Auditorium, University of Arkansas at Little Rock
2801 S. University Avenue, Little Rock, AR 72204
PANELISTS
Angela Thomas, AY Magazine
Lindsey Miller & Leslie Newell Peacock, Arkansas Times
Graham Gordy, Filmmaker & Screenwriter, if schedule allows
MODERATOR
Sarah Beth Estes, UALR Associate Professor of Sociology/Gender Studies Coordinator
