Women of Promise:  Emerging Leaders Pilot Program

The "Emerging Leaders" program is designed to cultivate skilled,

astute women to affect positive social change.  Through a nine-month

program designed to inspire, educate and empower central Arkansas

women, the program seeks to provide resources to the community

while dramatically increasing the skill-set and leadership abilities of

the participants. 

Emerging Leaders Pilot participants will:

• Gain an insider's view of the most pressing issues currently facing our community and analyze how government, political, non-profit, corporate and civic institutions shape our collective identity;
  

• Interact with key women leaders from across sectors to examine different approaches to philanthropy and leadership;
  

• Learn to ask probing questions, to be exposed to new ways of thinking and uncover innovative solutions;
  

• Expand their network of supportive women colleagues from every background and at every level;
  

• Develop their ability to communicate, build consensus, make decisions, believe in their own power and capabilities and embrace diversity;
  

• Give of their time talent and treasure to those in greatest need by collectively providing hundreds philanthropic and service hours to area non-profit and civic organizations.
  

The "Emerging Leaders" program will create a cadre of women prepared to grapple with the political, economic and social factors that influence and define the current state of our community while expanding their own learning and development to forge an enduring personal and professional network of women that will support each other and Central Arkansas.  The program seeks to arm women with the knowledge, tools, resources and conscience needed to create dramatic changes in the community and in their own lives.
