The WOMEN'S FOUNDATION of ARKANSAS
- Promoting philanthropy among women
- Helping women and girls achieve their full potential
2009-2010 Grant-making Program
In 1999, the WFA began awarding mini-grants to programs throughout Arkansas that serve women and girls.  Since that time, 79 programs have been funded for almost $200,000.  The Women’s Foundation is currently working to grow the WFA Grant-making Endowment Fund so that we might provide increased support to deserving organizations currently addressing the states’ greatest needs for women and girls.   Funding is made available to human service, educational, and charitable groups in every corner of the state.
The WFA is happy to announce that 31 Letters of Interest were submitted from qualified organizations seeking over $280,000 in funds for projects/programs that assist Arkansas women and girls – in rural and/or urban communities – in achieving their full potential. On March 1, seven organizations were invited to submit full proposals!

Projects/programs will promote one or more of the following:
• Improved educational status of Arkansas women and girls
• Development of skills in math, science and technology
• Job readiness and/or Entrepreneurship
• Promote mentoring of Arkansas women and girls
• Promote philanthropy by and for women in Arkansas
• Increase economic and financial literacy
Organizations selected to provide a full proposal:  Deadline is May 28, 2010.
