Grant Making: Funding Focus
Projects/programs must assist Arkansas women and girls,
in rural and/or urban communities, in achieving their full
potential and should promote the improved educational
status of Arkansas women and girls.  Priorities include those
programs that:

Improved educational status of Arkansas women and girls.
Programs that promote the achievement of:
  • Basic education
  • GED
  • Higher education preparedness

Development of skills in economics, science, technology,
engineering and math (ESTEM) in early childhood through 12th grade.
Programs that promote the achievement of:
  • Selecting focus for new or advance skills
  • Promotion of interest in ESTEM fields

Promoting mentoring of Arkansas women and/or girls.
For example, programs that encourage women/girls to stay in school and complete education

Job readiness and success.
May include:
  • Job market preparedness programs
  • Life-skills teaching
  • Job training
  • Career planning
  • Resume preparation; skill set identification
  • Programs that help remove barriers to job attainment (i.e. childcare, transportation)
  • Opportunities to advance in nontraditional field
  • Training women in male-dominated professions

Increase economic and financial literacy.
Provides training/tools that increase knowledge of and participation in financial management
These might include:
  • Basic budgeting
  • Workforce development
  • Community development
  • Literacy
  • Financial stability

Projects/Programs should 1) include evaluation tools to measure effectiveness of process and outcome with a clear definition of program success and 2) serve significant numbers, so that resources make a greater impact.
