Grant Making: General Information & Eligibility
The Women’s Foundation of Arkansas’ grants program promotes ideas and supports projects & programs that assist Arkansas women & girls in achieving their full potential.  WFA has one annual grant cycle per year.   The process begins with a Letter of Interest.  Funded grant awards range from $3,000 to $10,000.

Information for Applicants
Projects/programs must assist Arkansas women and girls, in rural and/or urban communities, in achieving their full potential and should promote the improved educational status of Arkansas women and girls.  Priorities include those programs listed under Funding Focus.
Dedicated to improving the economic viability of women and girls through focused philanthropic efforts in areas of education.
Projects/Programs should 1) include evaluation tools to measure effectiveness of process and outcome with a clear definition of program success and 2) serve significant numbers, so that resources make a greater impact.

Both Letters of Interest & Grant Proposals should be submitted by the designated deadlines for consideration.  Please do not send video or audio tapes, binders or notebooks.  WFA will acknowledge receipt of your proposal and will request additional information if necessary.  The Foundation provides notice of acceptance or delicine of grant application prior to annual Power of the Purse luncheon in October.

Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible to receive a grant from the Women's Foundaiton of Arkansas Foundation, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Must have a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt designation from the Internal Revenue Service, or be a governmental, educational or religious organization.
  • Must be located within Arkansas.
  • Consultation and/or collaboration with other agencies are encouraged, but not required.
  • Previous grant recipients may reapply after all written reporting requirements have been met.

General Exclusions
The Foundation does not fund:
  • Individuals
  • For-profit organizations
  • Sectarian activities of religious organizations
  • Operating expenses for annual drives or to eliminate debts
  • Capital improvements or campaigns for building, and property
  • Partisan political issues
  • Multi-year commitments
  • Projects that take place before the completion of the grant-making process
  • Scholarships
