The Women's Foundation of Arkansas began in 1998 when 100 women realized that by pooling their gifts, they could make a lager impact on the lives of women and girls than they could individually. Since its founding, the WFA continues to award strategic grants and has expanded its approach to provide key services to the women and girls of Arkansas. Gifts to Endowment Funds
The Women's Foundation of Arkansas began with a grant-making endowment fund in 1998 to ensure that the vision of our founders was felt throughout Arkansas in perpetuity. Since that time, two additional endowment funds have been established to support WFA's operating expenses and the signature "Girls of Promise" program. Interest from these endowments is placed toward grant-making, operations and Girls of Promise programming respectively. As the endowments grow, more funds are available each year to be placed toward WFA’s important work helping our state’s women and girls reach their full potential.
