The WOMEN'S FOUNDATION of ARKANSAS
- Promoting philanthropy among women
- Helping women and girls achieve their full potential
Volunteer Program
Volunteers are critical to the mission of the Women’s Foundation of Arkansas.  Each WFA initiative relies on teams of dedicated volunteers to further our mission within the state – through board and committee membership, fundraising events and programs and assisting with administrative work in the office.

Board Membership
The WFA’s Board of Directors manages the affairs of the Foundation reflecting community interest and serves in a fiduciary capacity.  Potential members are nominated by current board members.

Regional Grant-making Committees
Grant-making Committees made up of WFA donors around the state encourage philanthropy and offer a mechanism for actively engaging women in philanthropy.  The Women’s Foundation will oversee and facilitate the activities of these committees.  The committees will function as “satellite” grant-making entities for the Foundation – making recommendations for grants addressing issues pertinent to women and girls in their area to the Board Grants Committee for consideration.  Grant-making Committee Member Responsibilities.  Limited number of roles available each year.  Apply here.

Local Girls of Promise Committees
Local Committees help plan Girls of Promise conferences in order to both allow women across the state to become more involved in the Women’s Foundation and to allow WFA the possibility of expanding the Girls of Promise program to more locations across the state.  Local Committee members utilize the Girls of Promise Tool Kit© when recruiting students and volunteers, coordinating conference details, raising the necessary funds and seeking in-kind support to help ensure successful, engaging and branded conferences.  Limited number of roles available each year.  Apply here.

Women of Promise Committee
Members of the Women of Promise Committee organize open conversations focusing on topics related to women and/or philanthropy and recruit women experts to help lead these discussions.

Power of the Purse Committee
The Power of the Purse committee organizes and plans the WFA’s signature annual event through the work of subcommittees: Facilities and Arrangements, Public Relations and Media, Sponsorships and Ticket Sales, and Speaker/Honoree.

Designing Women Committee
Committee members secure in-kind donations, sponsorships and ticket sales, facilities and arrangements, entertainment, public relations and media for “Designing Women: A fashionable evening of women empowering women.”
